Life's Little Moments

Magnificent!!

Another totally awesome day with some of my best blip friends and new blip friend Laurie54 at Madera Canyon, just south of Tucson. Aside from the wonderful company, the highlight was seeing three new (to me) species of hummingbirds, including this gorgeous male Magnificent Hummingbird. As you can see, he lives up to his name. Also seen were black-chinned hummers and broad-billed hummmers. I will put a couple of shots in Extra.

From Madera Canyon, we made our way to a wetland habitat where we found a very cooperative pair of Greater Roadrunners (see Extra), rabbits, cinnamon teal, and a lizard that really looked like a scorpion at first look (and had everyone running with their camera poised!).

We are meeting up for dinner tonight and will make our way to Phoenix tomorrow for the official start of the 2017 Band of Blippers Bash (BOBB).

Thanks to everyone who' left hearts, stars and comments on yesterday's hummingbird - you've sent him buzzing to the popular page.

By the way, I've just learned that Cornell Labs will be using one of my photos for their Bird of the Day calendar next year - so chuffed!
