The quiet field

Back in Glen Massan. When you walk every day in your relatively local area you do tend to keep returning to familiar places, though in fact there is a walk for every day of the week without driving too far ...

But there you are. This is the foot of Glen Massan, before the road enters the gorge and climbs up three really quite steep sections, and this field, currently occupied by a flock of sheep, is indeed quiet; the River Massan runs through the far side of it and by this point is smooth and dark rather than the noisy torrent of further up. There were birds singing, and there was no-one else there ...

Though I do grow annoyed at the folk who drive up to the road's end, turn and come back down again, predictably - the road is really not wide enough to accommodate a car and a couple of pedestrians. Harrumph ....
