Rosedale Abbey

We've had a wonderful walk in Rosedale on an absolutely stunning day.  As we set off we lost the sun to dark and looming clouds, but fortunately by the time we parked up in Rosedale village the sun was out again.  Blue sky and green lush growth - it was lovely to be out.  The last time we were here we did a full circuit of the valley, and picnicked by the drying kilns of the old iron works, but today we did a shortcut about half way along. Far enough for us today.

We had a bit of a hunt around the grave-yard to look out the oldest grave markers before we set off.  The abbey itself was demolished and a church rebuilt in the last century though bits of the old building can be spotted in buildings around the village. .
