Ladybower Reservoir from Bamford Edge.... yes I was climbing again today, I'm very fortunate :-)

When I began climbing with Mat at Alter Rock indoor wall it was always the plan that we'd get outside when the weather allowed so that he can gradually ease himself back into leading.  This suits me fine as I'm not really a fan of indoor walls, although they have their uses, and much prefer to be outside.  As well as gaining another climbing partner I have high hopes that my climbing will improve by seconding him on routes that are too difficult for me to lead, and so far we've done Diffs to Severes.

The extra... yes well.... Mat thought it was the route Sunset HVD, but there's no photo of it anywhere.  If I search for it on UKC it's listed as HVD but is shown as S4a when I go to the page, and although it says there are five photos of the route, four of them are of sunsets and one is of another route entirely!  Try it, type Sunset into the box, click on the one at Bamford and see where it gets you.....  Anyway, I came off the middle wall and swung around a bit due to not much for the feet and less for the hands - no doubt I'll find some bruises tomorrow - but then got straight back on and did it ok... but slightly differently. And that's the thing, I need to find the slightly different before I get to the falling off, but I'll get there.

Due to me starting to lead I've been climbing mainly very easy routes since last July when S and I split, and I'm missing being forced to climb a route not of my choice so that I can get the gear out.  Sounds ridiculous....... but I know I'm alive!  Apologies to all you non-climbers out there, I must bore you rigid sometimes!

There now follows a short interlude (lol) while I go to Majorca with Skyline MC where we intend to do some climbing, walking, swimming (yes I know it's going to be freezing), sight-seeing and relaxing.  There are 14 of us going and it's going to FUN!
