Legs

That's the Lin's Mill Aqueduct in the distance - our goal for this walk from Mid Calder, through the Almondell country park. I think it's a walk that Norfolkdoc would like, given her propensity for country walks. The first half was excellent - the second half less so as there was a bit of road walking, which wasn't especially scenic and was rather close to the motorway. It was about 11kms, and we did it in about 2 hours 40, which was not bad, although I slowed down a bit at the end. The knees are a bit stiff and sore today - something to do with the bug I've suffered from (or whatever it was) this week. I want to get to the stage where 10kms feels ordinary. I'm not there yet.

Given Mr A's objection to heights and vertiginous spots, walking across the aqueduct on the canal tow path, as we had to do later, was a bit outside his comfort zone.

Afterwards, we went along to the Bridge Inn at Ratho and had a superb lunch.

Home to chill and plan some more walks, both now and when we are on holiday later in the year.
