More collectables!

I've decided one of the things I collect, is collections! This week I do seem to have gone from one to the next....a bit randomly. Tonight, it's stamps! Some of you know I've picked up the odd gem at jumble sales, car boots and charity shops, which I've sold on. But so far, I haven't been able to part with the stamp collection I got in a jumble sale. I have had it for at least 10 years, and had always thought one day, I'd sit and look up each stamp, to see if any of them are worth anything. But stamps are very specialist, and the internet has never been that helpful. It is a mine field. Anyway, last week I found a copy of Stanley Gibbons 2013 stamp catalogue, Commonwealth & British Empire Stamps 1840 - 1970 for £2.99 in Oxfam. So tonight I'm starting to pick my way through. So far, I have found several very old ones. These are 1902, the pink one, and 1868 the bottom one, both Australia. They have some value according to the book. Certainly the pre 2nd WW stamps in general have value, some up to £10 I think. So I'm going to go through my collection to see if it's going to make me rich. Then when I'm fed up, I might take it to a little shop on Elm Hill where the man who knows everything about stamps can value it!

I got home at 5.45 just after Jon. Mollie was cooking dinner. When she goes to uni, I'm going to miss her....for soooooo many reasons.

Lastly, a very Happy 15th Wedding Anniversary to my lovely baby sister Manda, and my inspirational marathon running bro in law Bruce. Can't believe how the time flies, but what lovely memories of that special day we all have. Hope you've had a fab day boozing in London together :) x
