MONO MONDAY

We had quite a busy afternoon yesterday, moving furniture and taking up carpet and we do have rather a large lounge, so it was good that our son and granddaughter came to help, and then we had a meal together.

Mr. HCB told me last night not to rush to get up but to have a lie-in, so I did - and eventually got up at 11 a.m.  I wasn’t asleep all the time, but did some reading and enjoyed just not having to rush.

So our lounge is now very empty, apart from a couple of chairs, a table and a stool, and of course, the television - well we had to watch the last episode of Line of Duty last night, didn’t we?  No spoilers, but it was excellent and we were glad to hear that there will be another series.

When I came down this morning, Mr. HCB was sitting in splendid isolation watching cricket on the television.  It’s a 50 Overs match between Yorkshire and Lancashire, and it looks as if it will be a good one.  Just seen a shot of a lady dressed in an anorak and scarf with a huge fluffy blanket over her knees - it’s obviously not as sunny in Leeds as it is down here.  Mr. HCB has just commented that the floodlights are on in Leeds - oh dear, not a good Bank Holiday in Yorkshire!

As I’m not sure if we will go out today, I decided to get a quick shot of Mr. HCB watching cricket, so here he is - my contribution to Mono Monday.

The bowler approached the wicket
     at a lope, a trot,
          and then a run.
He suddenly exploded
in a flurry of arms and legs,
out of which flew a ball.
