Day Seven Monarch Butterfly

Going for something different today. Monarch butterfly on an unknown flower. We were at the Quarry Gardens in Whangarei by 10.00 am after leaving Paihia reluctantly. A beautiful dawn on another balmy day.

The Quarry Gardens are 20 years old and other than a paid manager is run by volunteers. Mostly tropical and sub tropical plants many from overseas. See extras for the lake at the top and the Quarry.
We then travelled out to Dargaville for lunch, Warkworth for afternoon tea and now ensconced in our hotel in posh Parnell in Auckland.
