Diary of an Edinburgher

Sad Archie

A quick but useful gym session today. I sat on the low bike and put the level up to 15 and biked along some French country roads for five minutes. Hmmm, it doesn't sound much when it's written down, but it felt like a lot. I'll make it six minutes tomorrow. Maybe.

I was actually having a quick visit before we took Archie to the vet. Again. Yes, the wee lad has been feeling poorly. Three times out into the back garden on Saturday night, but he seemed fine on Sunday, when he went out for a walk with Kerri and Luke, and they reported nothing untoward. In the afternoon he played with his footballs, so we thought he was over it.

But no. Out into the back garden a couple of times on Sunday night. Both ends. The vet immediately declared it was gastro-enteritis, probably something he'd eaten. I asked what he could have eaten to have had such an effect, and he mentioned the rubbish in the Meadows etc. But Archie doesn't go there much, where he goes is clean and generally no food litter. The vet obviously sees a lot of 'urban dogs' and it's a common problem. But it could be an infection or a virus. Anyway, he's had a jab, and is on a course of medicine and goes back on Wednesday for a check up.

He has sat around all day looking sad - here he's having a wee lean on the table - and had a few dashes to the back garden. I hope he has (and we have) a restful night.
