Diary of an Edinburgher

Visitors!

Twenty minutes on the bike today! I won't get too excited about this because it's much much easier than the cross trainer, where I'm stuck on five minutes max.

Took Archie to the vet - he's still got diarrhoea (don't you just love the predictive spelling with words like that) - and he's now got five days of pro-biotic powder, and pills. And they wanted a poo sample, which I handed in on the way up the hill this afternoon.

But he's definitely SO much better. He's had a nice warm bath and is fresh smelling again. He even picked up one of his toys today, briefly.

We had visitors this afternoon - West Coast blippers Beachcomber149 and Apothecary7. They came to the city especially to see the Joan Eardley exhibition, which they viewed this morning and were most impressed.

We had cake and tea while having a good gabble. Mainly about dogs. Maeve the Deerhound is still sadly missed, and Archie must have seemed like a wee toy dog to them. He barked vigorously when they arrived, which was good, but soon settled down, resigned to the fact that they weren't to be scared away.

It was such a lovely afternoon that we wanted to bring the visitors for a grand view of the city, and to give Archie a run around. At one point we were all standing with our heads in a big yellow gorse bush, smelling the fragrance - coconut aroma apparently - though I could smell nothing.

All the bumph about our upcoming cruise has arrived. Exciting!
