An ordinary life....

Still...

Bit better known as Mirror Man.

I've blipped this scene before but in slightly colder weather.  No Mirror Man in that shot as apparently they took him inside for winter.

Well it's been a proper scorcher today.   Twenty-six degrees was the highest the car recorded.   We headed to Crieff in the morning as David wanted a mountain of bird poo washed off his car then had lunch in Delivinos in Crieff.

Had planned to drive to Kenmore via Aberfeldy but decided we didn't want to spend so long in the car, and headed to St Fillans instead.

We had the obligatory stop at the coffee shop to buy 2 scoops each of vanilla and honeycomb ice cream and sat under the shade of the trees where Loch Earn becomes the river Earn, to eat it.

There was a group of about 5 lads aged between 16 &18 (I think!)  all messing about on the small jetty with a raft of sorts.   They were jumping backwards into the water and doing somersaults.   One of them walked onto the little footbridge and jumped off.  I managed to catch that on camera but had my 50mm lens on so couldn't zoom.

We watched their hi-jinks and listened to their laughter.  So carefree and full of fun.   It felt a privilege to have glimpsed this small moment from their youth and to watch them making memories.

When we finished our ice cream we headed the short distance along the road to reach the Mirror Man and managed to get parked on the lay-by on the roadside.  Such a shock to open the car door and be hit by a wall of heat!

Spent a while there taking photos and just sitting on the bench enjoying the view up Loch Earn.   Lots of people came and went, as did the friendly ducks looking for treats.  Sadly we had nothing for them so they sat in the shade, tucked their heads under their wings and had a snooze.

Just before we left a lone jet skier appeared on the water.  Man alive those things move at some speed.  As I sat there baking I closed my eyes for a moment and imaged how amazing it must have felt to be on that jet ski.   Someone else making fabulous memories.

Home to chill out in the garden room this evening.  I was too hot to go to the Gin Palace but Alan appeared to enjoy himself in there with Christine, listening to Busted (see extra)

Apparently it's going to be another scorcher tomorrow.  Ele and Kenny are walking the West Highland Way.  Hope they had the Factor 50 on today!
