But, then again . . . . .

By TrikinDave

This morning was spent walking round Roslin Glen with the park ranger, his boss, and a couple of assessors for our green flag award. Assuming that we pass muster, we will be given a green flag along with the right to fly it at the entry gate for the next year. The requirements are that we have a well maintained, attractive and ecologically friendly environment. It was actually very interesting listening to four knowledgeable people discussing the finer points of forest management while my input was explaining in detail the organisation of litter picking groups. The piece de resistance was the stoat running across the path a few feet in front of us just as we were finishing; I missed it but didn’t let on.

Back at the house, Herself pointed out this solitary exotic aquilegia, though we have no idea how it arrived here or if it is a recognised variety. I thought it scrubbed up quite well.

Thanks to BikerBear for hosting Flower Friday.
