At a Snail's Pace

The third day sorting out domestics - paperwork this morning, garden this afternoon. We have not had such an at home weekend for a long long time, and have made quite a lot of progress - though still lots to do.

SkiMe's theme of "defining the moment" was therefore a challenge. This may or may not fit. The dry conditions have been superseded by our typical north west weather. Heavy cloud, rain, mugginess. The gastropods are absolutely delighted. I took this specimen and placed him on top of a newly cleaned pot. Watching him/her/it (they can change sex when it suits) come out of his/her/it's shell and turn was interesting. The first stage involves a slimy bubble bath to create a suitable surface for onward movement. After that there is no stopping him/her/it.

I know a photographer is supposed to focus on the eyes. That's quite difficult with a snail.
