Goodbye Morro Bay, bathed in thick fog, and up the 101. Coming down Salinas valley we came across some fruit and vegetable stalls, so we picked up cherries and strawberries. Enormous strawberries. Originally we were going to stop at Monterey or Carmel but with the Route 1 closed we decided to head for Santa Cruz instead. Although we were a bit early for check in, being chancers, they kindly let us drop off the luggage and use the sun deck anyway. We may just chill these last couple of days. In fact, the only sortie out was to the liquor store for some much needed Rye IPA. I say a couple of days - that may well depend on how well BA are coping with clearing their backlog of course.
