Porto

We landed in Porto, Portugal at 7.00 pm and were soon on our way to our hotel.

Flying in we could clearly see the Douro River and it's many bridges below the wispy clouds - extra.

The hotel is in the centre of town and is interesting for two reasons: it is called the Hotel de la Musica and is,decorated with wall murals of famous music, musicians and instruments. More interesting is the fact that I used to be a market and half of it still is a food hall. You can walk out of the hotel directly into it and being Friday night it was full of families eating. You collect what you want from any stall and take it to a table. Some can be seen on the mezzanine.

I liked the look of these tapas at the Bubbles Sangria bar.
We ate in our hotel, a degustation menu to share, but they also offer a sangria and tapas menu on a Saturday and Sunday evening. Think we will be struggling to chose tomorrow.
Have to be up early for a tour of Porto in the morning when I hope we will see more of the river.
