Ringlet

The ringlet butterfly (Aphantopus hyperantus) is one of the more common and widespread butterflies encountered in this area. The first ones have just emerged (I saw three today) and they will be seen in increasing numbers over the summer.

The main blip is a female with open wings.
The 'extra' shows one with its wings closed so you can see the underside.
