Lavender around the pond

A regular Friday. A good bash at the gym then home for lunch. Went to see Skinners Sheds in the afternoon to try and resolve the faults on Susan's studio.

When the building was manufactured they forgot to in put the floor insultation. We didn't notice and neither did the installers, it was only when we asked the guy came to insulate and clad the inside if he was also doing the floor we found out that it had not been done at the factory.

They tried to fob us off with a refund but we're not happy with that as we want the building to be used all year. One option is to dismantle the whole building and start again. Not keen on that idea as I've spent quite a few hours painting the building inside and out. We have suggested a false floor.

Now we had to ring the head honcho and press for a resolution to this and some slightly more minor defects like a bowed door and a hinge that is bent. Why is it that things never go smoothly? I'm having flashbacks to when we were dealing with the tradespeople repairing and redecorating Doreen's house after the burst water main.

So, today's blip is of calming lavender around the pond. Alive with bees it is creates a feeling of tranquility. Much needed as we also spent a couple of hours with Susan's mum who, while physically fine, is becoming increasingly confused, is taking more time to care for and is causing us all much anguish
