American Visitors

Four of us from our camera club were honoured to look after an American couple today. They're on a cruise which docked at North Shields early this morning and sailed away again at 5pm. So we had about 7 hours to show them some of the best parts of the Northumberland Coast. Happily the weather turned out perfectly for photos after all the recent rain.

Sandy Dimke is an accomplished photographer living in Beaufort, South Carolina with husband Russ. They're pictured here with Paul (in the centre), who is the competitions secretary of our club. The photo was taken at the very end of the day's trip as we said goodbye at the cruise terminal (we just got them back in time!). Paul is seen presenting them with little gifts from our club, including a Geordie Passport each and a Geordie Dictionary! (Howay the Lads, and all that!!)

The extra is Bamburgh Castle, taken from one of the viewpoints we stopped at.
