Day16-Maritime Manners

The cruise ship Corinthian arriving in Stromness from Stornoway at 7am this morning waits patiently to berth as the little fishing boat unloads its catch and moves out of the way.
I watched this scene in sunshine on my early morning roam round the policies. Unlike the environs of the Dower House early in the morning, there is hardly a soul about here. I have the world to myself and the odd cat, and to put icing on the cake, the weather at that time of day has generally been sunny with any clouds or rain appearing later in the day.

In the afternoon His Lordship and I walked the coastal path at Birsay where the soft grass favours sore damaged knees, with a plus of no people to negotiate.- they were all walking the low tide path to the Brough.

The only fly in the ointment today has been the non delivery of newspapers to the Islands. This is the second time in three days that they have not made the boat. I wouldn't have thought it rocket science to get the papers over 10miles of sea from the Scottish mainland. They do it proficiently over more miles in the Hebrides.
This means no crossword to keep HL happy tonight.
