Bully! Bullfinches

There have been bullfinches on our property for a while now but they're quite shy and have kept to overgrown areas where I've tried to photograph them without much success.

Recently a pair has taken to feeding on the front (not very manicured) lawn amongst the white clover. This evening while I was sipping my preprandial they came to feed on the back (not very manicured) lawn. How lovely. :)

Today's poem is Nevers by Colette Bryce. https://twitter.com/c1aranquinn/status/877266576805842944

It reads as nevers. How intereresting to research St Bernadette of Nevers whose body failed to decay. Poor dead woman was disinterred three times. Her incorruptible face is actually a professionally made wax mask.
I like the poem. "Older, at the inkling of an accent or a smile" we remember past unrequited love.
