The accidental finding

Changes

I used to work in this building. Since I started blipping nearly five years ago, Stroud high street has been resurfaced, in two sessions, with York Stone paving near the edges of the properties. This old building has been becoming more and more dilapidated, with trees growing out of the roof, and anti-pigeon netting covering the windows. Millets vacated the ground floor years ago, but have a shop further down the high street. Fat Toni's pizzeria was going to open a sit-down restaurant in the old Millets space, but the landlord wouldn't come up with the repair money, so they chose Cheltenham for their venture.

Someone is paying for the repairs now, which is good, because it's a landmark building at the centre of the High Street. I wonder what will emerge after the scaffolding is removed?

Busy day at work. Leavers' Party (nursery) in the morning, and a picnic lunch in a marquee. Leavers' mass (whole school) in the afternoon. Three out of our seven nursery children (some had gone home early) fell asleep in our arms! They are not used to sitting still for so long.

We have resolved the issue of the venue for next term's classes. It is going to be the same venue as the one we used previously, but with a bigger room, so it's what we call a win-win situation, as they'd just lost a tenant. I think we call the part in the middle of the process the no-sleep situation. I am vastly relieved it's sorted now. I got a lovely message from the pastor of the church we visited yesterday. I'd messaged her to say thanks, but no thanks, and she replied "glad that you have  been able to find a solution that meets your nerds".

A few seconds later: "for your needs, not nerds!"
