Colonsay here we come - by tandem!

On day 1 of our holiday we loaded up the tandem and cycled from our flat in Edinburgh (mainly along the Union Canal) on National Cycle route 754 to Glasgow.

We took a break at the Falkirk wheel to feed and water Mr hazelh. He consumed two cans of lemonade, a big slice of ginger cake, a slab of tablet, and a banana. I ate a (modest) ice cream with a cup of tea.

Our friend Katharine had agreed to meet us at the wheel and she piloted us along the rest of the route to the outskirts of Glasgow. Then she took the route to the city centre to catch the train back to Edinburgh, and we headed off to the west end to spend the night at Laura's flat.

My blip shows Mr hazelh loading up the bike at the start of our travels. Note how little luggage we carry, the contents of which will last us over two weeks on the road.

Exercise today: ~9000 steps walking in the morning (to medical appointment in town and back again), 55 miles of tandem riding.
