Life in Sunny Dubai

Wind Towers

Blipped on 20/7/17.

Apologies for the quality of this but when you're constantly on the move, trying to get things finished in a very short time, pictures from a moving car is all I can manage! The picture does show accurately, the type of lighting we had for most of the time. Harsh because of the intense heat and high humidity - very much like Dubai.

My blip is of the wind towers on the outskirts of the village we're staying at - Tersefanou. I LOVE them! One day, or week, I am going to dedicate some time to capturing these at the right time of day...

We headed to Debenhams first for some specific things because if we can't get them there, then we have to get them in IKEA. Fortunately, bedding and other small things were all found there. So, after we dropped the first shop back to the flat, we headed back to IKEA. We needed to get some things for ourselves as well, as we are getting our flat ready for friends to use later in the year. Another few hours disappeared, but we got lots done including getting items forgotten on Wednesday.

Once again, IKEA wowed us. Their family card scheme gives cash for points, and as we have accumulated a few points since 2015, we actually got a significant amount of cash back which was very welcome, especially under our current circumstances!

G actually opted for a meal at home tonight. After all, we now have utensils to cook with (frying pan/egg flip). Mind, we still don't have a dinner set, so just as well G brought some plates and bowls over from her friend's flat!! :)

We spent several hours unpacking and finding places for all the things we bought. Poor G, she was up well past her bed time, but never complained.
