At the Hospital

Back to the hospital today. This time a scheduled visit rather than yesterday's lamp eating incident!
Following a long overdue haircut this morning (see extras) and half an hour in the park it was time to head to the JR in Oxford for Miss L's annual check up at the Gastro clinic to check all is well and Coeliac disease isn't affecting her growth and/or development. And that she hasn't been eating gluten that we don't know about.
As usual she was weighed and measured as soon as we arrived (she's grown 6cm since last year, woohoo!!) and had magic cream plastered all over her arms.
The appointment with the consultant - the lovely Dr U who performed her endoscopy in 2013 and always remembers her - was super quick as usual:
How are things?
All good thanks.
Any issues?
Nope.
See you next year then.
I asked how long these annual check ups continued for and he said until Miss L was 16.  Luckily we enjoy our days out at the hospital and it'll be lovely to have a record of her growing up against this window!!

After the chat with the consultant we went back to the waiting room to play (Miss L) and read interior magazines (me). Naturally as soon as Miss L had donned every Disney Princess dress in the place we got called through to have her bloods taken. Thankfully the magic cream had worked its magic and she didn't even notice it being done. She was so engrossed with the Where's Wally book the play nurse was distracting her with.
And I was obviously superhumanly focused on the book too rather than Miss L's arm because for the first - and only - time ever I spotted Wally. Instantly!!
In and out in three minutes. That's my girl!!
We'd dropped Miss E off with Nana on the way over to Oxford. She decided against another few hours sat in hospital waiting rooms!
As our appointment was late in the day I rang Mr K to see if he wanted a lift home with us rather than getting the bus just half an hour later. He did!
So after a bit of twirling with Monkey in the window we had a little tootle into Oxford city centre and picked him up just off the High Street.
Then it was back to Bicester for Miss E and then home.
