Far from the crowd

This is a corner of Edinburgh that seems a million miles away from the crowds that gather in the city centre for the Festival, for the Fringe, or simply because it's on their list ...

A wide suburban street curves over the hill, and the sun shines on gardens of neat roses. A bus has passed, a banner on its side proclaiming the low emissions from its exhaust. A bird is singing, and the torrential rain has for now been replaced by sun.

Peaceful enough to attract even me........
