...and along came a spider

The painted lady butterflies showed up yesterday! I was out taking pictures and a skipper decided to do a photobomb. (see extra)

This morning I went out to see if I could get some more shots. As I was taking a picture of a bee on the lantana, I saw something reach out at the bee. Getting a little closer in, I saw this tiny spider. I have no idea what kind it is, but it really wanted that bee!

I have a feeling that the butterflies will be around for a few days, so I will be out again tomorrow trying to capture one with the wings spread. They aren't as elegant as the monarchs, but I love their markings.

Bunker has not warmed up to going in the yard. We have to take him on the leash to walk him around. Something happened with the rain or afterward that has spooked him from enjoying being out on his own. I had to force him to go next to his favorite bush where the lizards hide. 

Hopefully, whatever the problem is will be resolved soon. He loved his yard and now he sits by the door wanting to go back in when I am out taking pictures. It makes me sad.

I am grateful for all the fascinating critters in the plants and for a lens that can pick up the tiniest of them.
