Sallow kitten

I was lucky enough to be given some eggs of the Sallow kitten moth Furcula furcula by a moth trapping friend who had a moth lay them in her moth trap a few weeks ago. They subsequently hatched and are feeding well on Sallow (as you would expect) and today a few shed their skin and are now in the 2nd instar.
So today's blip is one such larva having just shed it's skin (you can see the old skin beside it), ready to demolish the sallow leaves I have provided.
Ever since I raised the Puss moths ~ 3 years ago I have longed to look after more of the larvae in this family, they are so interesting with their feisty attitude and long tails that shoot out a red whip-like centre if you annoy them!
No doubt this won't be the only blip of these beauties.
