Favourite Picnic Spot

One of the outings we went on during our trip to Sweden last year - a visit to a lake in the nearby nature reserve - was very much on my wish list for this year. Today was the perfect day for it so off we went. We packed a picnic because one of the great things about this spot is the wonderful seat and table set up against a big rock, in a suntrap, looking out on the most beautiful, peaceful view. Make sure you see the collage as my Extra photo, showing the beautiful setting.

This main picture is Elisabet and Alice, before we got out the picnic. We enjoyed the food and some chillax time in the sun, watching the many birds on the lake. We also found a geocache nearby that was very cleverly hidden. You will have to read Alice's blip to hear about the drama of the geocache.

When we finally pulled ourselves away from this favourite spot, we drove to another part of the nature reserve and found three more geocaches on a pleasant walk through what was once a Bronze Age settlement. The last picture in the collage is Alice posing next to a Bronze Age burial site.

All in all, it was a perfect outing - walkies, sunshine, food, beautiful view, laughter and geocaches. And other than our picnic lunch - it didn't cost us a thing!
