Plenty

A quick blip before bed ... a day spent with Bundle, who arrived yesterday evening to be flung directly into village life with our neighbour's booze-up wine-tasting, meeting a number of regular characters -- some of them the worse for drink. We were relatively abstemious and hence managed to drag ourselves out of bed not long after 9 o'clock this morning.

First stop: les Halles in Narbonne. I think we take all our visitors here, so it definitely counts as a Cultural Blip Point of Interest. It is a foodie paradise. After buying fruit, veg, olives, cheese, and three fine fresh sea bream, we stopped in at the tapas bar for fried snacks and wine. Sadly the weather was not ideal, but we somehow managed to slot our visit in between  two heavy showers, getting back to the car just as the second one started.

After further shopping for essential equipment and a brief pause at home, we headed up to the bergerie for a chat with A and C, and a visit to the pet sheep. Then home for dinner of delicious baked daurade. More wine may have been consumed. But now it's early to bed for a tougher day tomorrow ....
