Life in Sunny Dubai

Worthing

Woke early today to be at church and have a final run through the songs with Margaret. Very nice that for a Bank holiday weekend, we had a good turnout; and apart from the sound system malfunctioning, the service was well received. :)

Home for a light lunch and as we had a few hours before heading out again, we finally watched The Proms paying tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzie Gillespie thanks to iPlayer.

And then we picked Margaret up and headed to Worthing for fish and chips. Last chance to do it and a warm sunny day was perfect. Got to the chippy and boy were they busy. They couldn't produce chips fast enough. Think I queued for 25 minutes, and then waited another 15. The food was just as good though and we stopped at a different section to sit and enjoy it. Because we had such a long wait, I missed the best of the light, and managed to capture pink hues of the sunset. Unusual from me as we rarely get a spectacular sunset in Dubai.

Home via Guildford city centre. I wanted to see what the night life is like; I've never been in Guildford in the evening. We also stopped at Newlands Corner just to see the stars. Amazing. If we had remembered to take our fleeces, we might have stayed a bit longer but it was hard to remember to take something warm to wear when it was boiling when we left.
