Three Little Pigs

I met Phil Hesmondhalgh, the Head of Marketing and Communications at Country Trust earlier this year. This is a national educational charity bringing alive the working countryside for primary school children who cannot access it. Phil and I followed each other on Twitter. I have been following the fortunes of Octavia on the web cam at Romshed Farm with which the Country Trust is associated. I've watched Octavia's udders 'bagging up' full of milk for her piglets. This morning I saw that she had brought dock leaves and nettles in to make a nest for the new arrivals. When I came back from doing some grocery shopping this afternoon she had given birth to three piglets. How wonderful!

MrQ has been a bit down. I got Walt Disney Silly Symphony up on the laptop starting with the Three Little Pigs.  He loved watching it and remembers when his mother took him to see the films when they first came out. Walt Disney was a no-no for our weird family. We've missed such a lot. I loved watching the animations, hearing the music and picking out the references for MrQ.

Today's poem is Touch by Thom Gunn.
