Teeth brushing time

Dianne works part time at the Chahinkapa Zoo Wahpeton. You can find out about it here if interested! The zoo is set up mainly for conservation and rehabilitation of animals, they are expecting a white rhino in the next few years. She arranged for us to have a behind the scenes tour which included feeding lemurs and kangaroos in their enclosures. The director Kathy took us around to start and spoke passionately about their work and the animals which was really interesting. We got close to the keepers as they worked and trained with the animals.  Tigers including a white tiger Nina, bears who were rather sluggish so autumn is coming and almost time for them to sleep but best of all was watching Addy working with Taluken (Tal). They do this work with him so if a vet needs to see him. She used a stethoscope on him then cleaned his teeth which was great to see then he played the recorder!!!!  After lunch we went back and got very close to him by the bars and he kept turning to my voice must be the English accent!!!! We also saw his inside living quarters and winter hideout. It can get very cold and snowy here. I decided to sponsor him as a thank you to the zoo. There is also a lovely old carousel called the prairie rose carousel run by Doc Olson and they opened it up for us and we had a ride.
We spent the whole day there, it was very quiet and only saw about 4 other visitors.
Thank you again for all the stars , hearts and comments on my blips I am having a fantastic holiday. (I'm putting this on blip on Saturday I fly home Monday night, as my sister says for a rest!!!)
