Go MO ...... and NEIL

Early start as I wanted to get a good spot to watch the Great North Run.  I caught the bus to Gateshead and walked down to the Tyne Bridge and settled down to wait.  First of all were the wheelchair elite, then the ladies elite and then the elite men and " the Masses". Got a shot of Mo Farah as he led the field across the bridge.  He was the eventual winner - Well Done Mo.

Then the pressure was on to spot Neil. I had told him where I was standing and we did spot each other.  I had a split second to get a photo.  Just about managed it.   (Unbeknown to me Neils girlfriend was also on the Tyne Bridge - actually not too far from me but we didn't see each other )

The Red Arrows did their usual fly past at 11.05am.  I stayed for a while after that just enjoying the atmosphere and clapping on the runners.  Did quite a few " high fives " too.

Then shopping in Tesco before I got the bus home.

Heard from Neil later that he had finished.  He was disappointed with his time - he said " he just didn't have the legs" . Never mind - its a great achievement to finish and raise money for charity.  The finish is in South Shields and a friend of Neil's runs a pub there so he headed to the pub for a pint ( or two ). He will get the Metro back to Newcastle when the rush settles down.

Becky got " Great North Run Fever "  this morning and ran a half marathon on her own around the country roads where she lives.  A different experience - but the distance was the same.  ( Don't tell Neil but she was a lot faster than him! )

Early blip - for me -  as I need to sort out things for my trip - whilst listening to the match on the radio.  Newcastle are away at Swansea.  3 points would be nice.
