Nicky and her Nikon

He is finally home again!

It was wonderful to arrive home last night and see that Adam was home - we have hardly seen him this summer and have missed him. He is here for the week before he goes off for the university pre-season ski training in Austria.

Today is our wedding anniversary - 24 years and never had a fight!! As Gavin says, a difference of opinion does not constitute a fight, and he knew I was not going to be a pushover when he married me! I say it makes life more interesting to not always agree on things.

Today they started the work on our garden - they spent the day clearing out the plants we are not keeping (diseased, or in the wrong place and therefore have died) and also removed all the pebbles that have been put in the beds and around the garden. For one thing they are dangerous as they edge on to the lawn and when using a lawn mower they can fly up and injure the gardener, and for another they are depressing as they remind me of my father's grave. So the stones are going and will be replaced by bark chips. I reckon we almost have more pebbles in our garden than Brighton Beach, the developers of our property sure used them generously to fill any gap in the garden they did not know what to do with.

Strange weather today, sunshine, then rain, then sunshine - but it is nothing compared to what they are experiencing across the Atlantic.
