It's a duck's life!

I met with a couple of guys from the Lorn Natural History Group - plus Jake from Keep Oban Beautiful - to look at Invasive Exotics along the Black Lynn. One of the LNHG duo is their invasives adviser, so we had a good look to see what we were up against. Mostly Japanese Knotweed, of course, and Himalayan Balsam, but also Skunk Cabbage . We were trying to work out a programme to see how we can sensibly work towards eradication of all three; whether we'll ever solve anything I don't know, as various people have been slashing and spraying and leaving cut vegetation all over the path and leaving a very ugly mess.

We'll give it a go and see what develops - more than anything we need people!

Here you can see a couple of mallards surveying the Japanese Knotweed!
