Salford Quays

A very happy Salford University student, at lunchtime today. Photo taken in the place that becomes Mollie's playground for the next 3 years. Her studying will be done in one of those tall buildings between the BBC buildings, and overlooking the beautiful Quays and The Lowry theatre.

We left home at 6.30am, arrived at 11.15 with a 30 minute breakfast stop. It was easy to find the block where she will be living this year. Floor 2 of a 12 story block. It only took two trips to unload everything. Briefly met her neighbour Eve, who she has built up a friendship with on facebook. Then we left her for an hour to sort her bags and boxes, and walked down to some shops, where we had a cup of tea in a giant Tesco.

Back in the room she had made a start, but it will take a little while to make it homely. We drove out to the Quays to get a meal. A quick walk around the quays and past all the tv and radio buildings as Jon hadn't seen it before. This part we will definitely come back to. Maybe for some celebrity spotting!

So now we have said our goodbyes, hugged, and let her go.

Driving home now, across the Peak District. We'll be fine....
