Wild Wednesday: New Year

Had the a/c guys arrive first thing in the morning... I thought they'd be done in thirty minutes and on their way, but no, wrong part! And because there is another unit exactly the same in G's room, they were able to take working parts from there to ascertain which one exactly they need. I was miffed, but glad that after three hours, my a/c is cooling as it should

G only had an hour in school today, so I waited to pick her up and then... as it is Rosh Hashanah today, she said we should eat donuts, so we did! We had quite a selection to choose from - as you can see. This year, Rosh Hashanah coincides with Islamic New Year - for which we have a public holiday tomorrow. So we will enter the year 5778 according to the Jewish calendar and 1439 Hijri.

As we had a clear day and time, we decided to drive past the old Ramada Hotel which is currently being demolished. We wanted to take pictures, and while we were so close, we drove round to the Creek and the old Bastakiya area to see if there were any changes there. There are. For one thing, it is a lot less busy.

Home to a long weekend, and it was interesting to watch a movie called "Tracks" about an Australian woman (Robyn Davidson) who walked 2,000 miles with four camels and a dog through some very arid terrain!

I think all these qualify for Wild Wednesday! Thanks Cailleach. :)
