A window on the world

This attractive little window is on the Butter House which stands near the quay and as the name suggests was where butter was  once weighed/collected/sold before distribution. If you biggify you can see the boats from the quay reflected in the wndow. The house is now a holiday home, rather delapidated but full of charm.

An interesting day. J came for coffee and to discuss all things archaelogical. He is a mine of information, his family having lived here for generations. Spurred on by new facts I sped off to discover an enormous standing stone, now in the garden of a very charming and helpful couple; and then onwards to wade through bracken to the find the surprisingly substantial remains of an early church - surprising for it was quite close to the road, behind bushes admittedly, but I had never noticed it before. The sun has been shining too.
