Looking for Deer

Popped up on to Cannock Chase to check on the fallow deer rut.  I could hear plenty of roaring and the odd clattering of antlers, all within the Brocton Quarry Conservation Area.  Unfortunately there were polite signs asking people to keep out on the palisade fence that surrounds the area.

I did come across a couple of bucks while walking around, but both in deep undergrowth and no chance of getting a clean image.  In the end I was taken by this little robin, who sat on the said fence.  It seems to be a behaviour I see from robins when I walk.  They come out and stay on guard as you walk through their territory.  It has an autumnal feel with the colours in the background.
