An ordinary life....

Broadslap Bound...

After an enjoyable morning that included some lead training in the garden, a trip to the park and a long snooze, we decided  it was time to introduce Lola to the joys of Broadslap Farm Shop so into the car and off we went.

It was almost 4pm and we were relieved to see just one table of customers.  We had planned to sit st one of the picnic tables outside but Craig the manager said to bring her in.  We sat at a table at the back near the back exit so David could get her outside in a hurry if necessary.

The four ladies at the other table were ooing and ahhing over Lola.  When they found out her name they all started singing.  I'm sure I don't have to tell you the song :-))

Craig brought Lola a lovely bowl of cool water that she enjoyed till she knocked it over. Thankfully David had taken her outside to drink it.

After lovely coffee and cake we headed home feeling happy that life seems to be getting back to some kind of normal after 6 weeks of puppy mayhem.

All was well till about an hour ago.

Two of Lola's favourite chew toys had started to disintegrate so we took them from her this morning.

This evening we gave her a new one, a cloth ball with soft rubber studs) and she played happily with it while we ate our dinner.

She'd only had it about half an hour when I spotted her chewing.  David grabbed the ball and we immediately saw that she'd chewed the tips off each rubber stud.  All 18 of them!

I contacted Carole, her breeder who has reassured us that they should pass through her but because there was 18 of them I'm terrified they'll cause a blockage.

David phone the emergency Vet and the advice is she should pass them but to keep an eye on her over the next three days and if at any point she seems not her usual self, to get in touch with them.

Again I'm relieved but won't be able to relax till the three days are up!  We are borderline obsessive about her safety and today we decided to relax a bit. Now this.

I feel like a very bad puppy mummy :-(
