Life in Sunny Dubai

Mid-Level

New week!

G discovered she had a shorter day today because of Parents' conferences, so she picked me up after school and we headed to Festival City intending to do a small shop in Carrefour but realised on our way there, we were really quite hungry, so we ate something first.

And then, we had a walk through IKEA as we haven't been there for ages. Things have changed! They have expanded their restaurant area; in fact, when we thought of it, IKEA in Cyprus has a larger eating area than Dubai; until now.

By the time we'd done that, all thoughts of doing a food shop were abandoned, so we headed back to the car. My blip is of the mid-level flower shop. A great sight to behold as you head down on the escalator. I love where it is placed and it had some pink flowers for me!

We came home via Al Seef Road, now "transformed" to be a central tourist area, in fact, the government have made an application for the Creek to be given UNESCO World Heritage status. (It hasn't happened yet).

This was one of the few places you could go along, park up for free and watch boats go up and down the Creek. No more. At the top end, there are very modern, multi-storey buildings and the section shown in my extra is built in the old architectural style of merchant houses.

And the evening vanished... first G's Skype lesson got cancelled, then I did a quick stock of what wine we have, and how much of it is actually drinkable(!) We really can't leave anything like that in the flat over the summer.

I hope you've been clicking here as often as possible to help donate free mammograms. :D
