Berkhamsted Castle

A mini blipmeet today or, perhaps more accurately, a gathering round the cauldron!  Three of us had a lovely day - Hildasrose, Black Tulip and me gathered around a table in The Crown, Berkhamsted, to try and sort out a week in the next year when we can all get together for a blip holiday; it is not until September 2018 that we can find a whole week for this, although we are going to try and manage a long weekend before that.

We wandered around Berkhamsted Castle, up to the HIgh Street, in St Peter's Church and along to look at a few shops - we all narrowly managed to get out of Waterstone's without buying books - a close call though as I was finding one book hilarious so I may have to return to actually buy it!

Berkhamsted Castle may only be a shell of its former self but it's a very historic site - it dates from 1066 and it was here where the notorious William the Conqueror waited for London to surrender - the rest is history - as they say!

HR and BT had difficult journeys due to transport issues whereas I was only a 30 minute drive from home.  I'm off to Bath again this weekend for a RPS Volunteer's Induction Day - no stress for this one,
