A sensory afternoon

A beautiful day today, though pretty cold - and even more so when the sun had gone down.

Four of us from 'Keep Oban Beautiful' spent a couple of hours this afternoon weeding and removing brambles at the Sensory Garden in Oban, which is the garden belonging to the no longer used Church of Scotland on the Corran Esplanade. The church was built only in 1957, but in 2013 when it was found to need £300,000 worth of repairs the congregation abandoned it and joined up with the church at Glencruitten.

It was a good afternoon overall, but I was sorry that only four out of a Facebook following of 150 and a town population of 8,500+ turned up. Not to worry - we'll keep on trying!
