FlowerFriday17 An ornamental cabbage

Today was our usual routine with Violet. We decided not to meet with her friend S before Tumble Tots as both girls have slight colds and to be honest I haven't felt 100% myself this week.   After Tumble Tots we walked down the high street, as usual, to the little supermarket, to pick up  a few things and of course her Friday 'treat'.  Autumn continues to get even more golden in our part of the world and even in this main street there are still quite a lot of leaves on the ground to be enjoyed and scuffed as you can see in my extra.
There isn't much in the garden now in the way of flowers, so I've blipped the supermarket bunch that I bought today.  I really do like the tones and textures of these ornamental cabbages.
We watched  Children in Need this evening on TV.  Some of the personal stories are  heart breaking.  Such stories make me put my own life into perspective and remind me that I have much to be grateful for.  On a less positive note, I'm not sure how I feel about these annual telethon evenings any more:  I wonder how much money actually reaches the charities and I am not sure that these children and their families should just be depending on the goodwill of the public to have their needs met.
