Plus ça change...

Can't think of an obvious way to make today any better (except maybe if I'd remembered to make mint sauce).

A decent lie-in, then some reading the Sunday papers. A nice early lunch - mostly we went Spanish (pisto con huevos for me and Mr B, tortilla for TallGirl) though CarbBoy veered towards the Italian, with pasta topped with a couple of fried eggs (it may not be a classic in the kitchens of Milan, but it is in my kitchen).

The sun put in a very welcome appearance so I headed garden-wards for a very pleasant couple of hours with some Desert Island Discs and lots of earth. Once the earth was weeded, tilled, laced with compost and raked, there were lots of shrubs to transplant from their growing-on bed (we're due some warm weather this week, so it seemed as good a time as any). Meanwhile the others had a wee walk, then home for some fizz to celebrate CarbBoy's basketball victory and it having been a while since we'd opened a bottle.

Some loafing around in the sunshine, then off to roast some lamb with nearly all (minus mint sauce) the trimmings. TallGirl wanted to learn how to make apple pie, but was mysteriously absent when it came time to make it. (Note to self: couldn't find the pie dish so made it in the quiche tin, which worked surprisingly well.)

And now CarbBoy has persuaded us to watch the second Hobbit movie. I'm planning some sofa dozing.
