Mind The Gap

A morning spent trawling supermarkets as it was raining and no chance of a decent walk. Then after a later lunch the rain stopped so we set off.

I have walked along this path (a permissive path along the edge of The Bramham Estate) many, many times and have never noticed this former gap that has been bricked up at some point. It may have something to do with the fact that all the scrub has been cut back revealing the hidden features. It looks in need of some maintenance to restore it - most of the wall (several hundred metres long) is in this state.

Presumably there would have been a gate into the field here. There is a gate further along, which gives access to what appears to have been two separate fields - but now merged into one large one.
