Autumn Woods

Autumn seemed to get off to a slow start this year but I think the frost and cold weather of the last few days has finally persuaded the trees it is time to shut down for winter. The leaves have suddenly turned colour from green to orange and yellow and lots of them have dropped off. A little rain over the last 24 hours has coloured the leaf fall nicely.

After a rainy start to the day (again) we went for our walk around noon. This was the scene in the little woods that we use regularly… a nice path of bronze beech leaves under the yellow leaves. A little flash of sunlight has just brightened the colours a bit. Looks nice in large against the black background.

I set up a batch of beer today - hopefully it will be ready in time for the seasonal festival at the end of December (although I am probably not going to be home much to drink it).
