Life is full of surprises. Some are pleasant but the other sort always lurk around the corner hiding and waiting for that moment when your foot catches on a stick and you fall and hurt yourself, and so it was today as The Boss phoned some folk with vision problems (they repair blinds) vision / blinds get it ...oh ok ok sorry, and found that the lady had in fact fallen and injured herself but her assistant was happy to repair our blinds if we could drop them in pronto, so it was in to Suzz and off to Clyde for the quick repair job. To kill time while the job was done The Boss took me walking along this track which runs behind the Clutha river near Alexandra. It is a track I have been on before with the Walkers "B" team and I was chuffed to remember how it smelt. All sort of damp with woody and earthy tones and this morning sprinkled with the odd young lady running for fitness I guess. This is not to say that they were odd because they were running but that there was only a few of them doing it....OK? ...right. They were friendly too and said good morning to me as they went past. It is always a sign of fitness if you can run and talk at the same time I feel.
The assistant blind repairer....Er actually I think he could see OK "Cos he did a great job without supervision, had the job all done when we returned and The Boss wished his boss well for a quick recovery AND their two little dogs barked at me AND I showed restraint (small dog syndrome) and didn't bark back AND we returned home.
OH OH forgot. The Boss bought a chair somewhere between the track and the two small barking dogs and was totally chuffed too "Cos there was free delivery to Wanaka and a discount for dog owners who emailed pictures to their Bossess's to check colour preference while buying. Just gotta get one of those ME phone thingies with a bigger paw pad.
