The best of a bad day

What a day! Wet and wild! Apart from the weather though, it turned out well. I had to go to the local hospital this afternoon for a 'minor procedure' and as soon as I'd got into the car, the sleety hail began. I drove through the murk to the hospital where it's usually impossible to park and found one space, just opposite the Outpatients door. Lucky!  As I turned off the engine the hail stopped and the sun came out!

It seemed to be a quiet day at the hospital and once inside I was met by a friendly receptionist who asked me to have a seat in the waiting area, then very shortly another friendly nurse came along and took me to the relevant room where the doctor was summoned. Later, as I got up to go, the nurse held out my fleece for me to slip my arms through and then did the same with my waterproof! What kind and friendly care! How dare anyone complain about the Lorn and Islands Hospital - I've never had anything but friendly, helpful and professional service there! I find it hard to believe that on Friday nights the staff there are abused after chucking out time by drunken louts who should be told to go back outside and take an aspirin!

To further make my day, when I stopped on the way home to buy a paper, the shop door was held open for me by a young woman who was not much more than a schoolgirl! What wonderful people!

It may well be though, that I look so old and decrepit that they've all been taking pity on me!
