Finally catching up with back-blipping!

Today has been a really busy day. Lots to do in the morning and to think about the next step forward with the business, mainly to commit to renting a physical office. I had really wanted the website to be ready for today as it would have been my Dad's 77th birthday. It wasn't to be though.

To mark the occasion, Pauline invited us to lunch and cooked the three things he always made for G & me i.e chicken curry, chickpea rice and dal. She also had her kids there so it was great to see her grandson again after ages!

We had a good afternoon and managed to get a few family pictures. Then home for a few hours before venturing out again, this time to a friends' 50th birthday! SweetArt and I know Shirley from our Youth group days in the mid-1980's, so we go back quite a long way.

Shirley did something quite unique and invited people who have been in her life from all the different times and aspects, so there was a very varied group of friends old and new! It was great to catch up with some folks we don't get to see except at times like this. To top it off, Shirley chose Vivaldi's at the Sheraton hotel on the Creek. What a fab venue! They have a terrace area, so we could enjoy the fabulous weather, great views of Dubai Creek and best of all, excellent food and company!

I've included a few pictures of the hotel decorations. You might notice two cakes in one of the pictures. That's because coming up later in the month, is Shirley's mum's 70th, and as everyone had already gathered for one celebration, it was the perfect time to celebrate both birthdays!

We got home quite late (2 am) as there was some dancing involved in the evening! Way too tired to think of even looking at my pictures. The free-flowing Prosecco was nice but didn't help in this case. I would so love to have my 50th here!
